Vision-Based Control of a Mobile Base and On-Board Arm

چکیده
In this paper we present a new methodology to achieve visionbased control using a mobile manipulator to reach a required threedimensional target position and orientation. Examples of mobile manipulators include standard forklifts and backhoes, which have a fixed manipulator mounted on a mobile platform. The overall objective of this methodology is to apply the nonholonomic degrees of freedom represented by two independently driven wheels together with the holonomic dexterity of the on-board arm in order to bring about a desired positioning objective for the arm. Mobile Camera-Space Manipulation and an extended Kalman filter are implemented to use a minimum number of holonomic and nonholonomic degrees of freedom as required for the end member of the on-board arm to achieve a target position and orientation. We present this vision-based method to control mobile manipulators as an alternative to methods such as visual servoing and calibration (i.e., stereo approaches). This new approach only requires a minimum number of holonomic degrees of freedom to achieve the required three-dimensional positioning by taking full advantage of the nonholonomic degrees of freedom. Experimentally, the method shows itself to be robust to errors in the nominal kinematics and the optics models, as demonstrated by the

Approximation-based Control and Avoidance of a Mobile Base with an Onboard Arm for Mars Greenhouse Operation
MARS greenhouse needs mobile robots with on-board arms, that are capable of navigating autonomously in the greenhouse, performing tasks such as carrying plant trays, farming, harvesting, plucking fruits and vegetables and so on. An adaptive neural network (NN) is employed for the coordinated motion control of a mobilebase with an on-board arm using Lyapunov’s approach and it is rigorously justi...
متن کاملDynamic Load Carrying Capacity of Mobile-Base Flexible-Link Manipulators: Feedback Linearization Control Approach
This paper focuses on the effects of closed- control on the calculation of the dynamic load carrying capacity (DLCC) for mobile-base flexible-link manipulators. In previously proposed methods in the literature of DLCC calculation in flexible robots, an open-loop control scheme is assumed, whereas in reality, robot control is achieved via closed loop approaches which could render the calculated ...
متن کاملEffective Mechatronic Models and Methods for Implementation an Autonomous Soccer Robot
Omni directional mobile robots have been popularly employed in several applications especially in soccer player robots considered in Robocup competitions. However, Omni directional navigation system, Omni-vision system and solenoid kicking mechanism in such mobile robots have not ever been combined. This situation brings the idea of a robot with no head direction into existence, a comprehensi...
متن کاملEvaluation of Feature Detectors for KLT based Feature Tracking using the Odroid U3
Feature tracking is an integral part of most vision-based state estimation frameworks. However, tracking features at a sufficient frame rate is a challenging task for mobile robots such as Micro Aerial Vehicles (MAVs) due to their fast dynamics and limited on-board computing resources. Recent developments in smartphone processors have led to embedded computing platforms that are ideal on-board ...

This paper describes an approach to real-time detecting static pointing armpostures which can be used to send position instructions to a mobile robot. This takes place by analyzing the color image and utilizing the range image of the scene obtained by a stereo vision system. First the algorithm locates the person’s face and afterwards the arm-postures are recognized. The start as well as the en...
